Sony OLED display A japán elektronikai óriás, a Sony bemutatta 28 centis (11 inch, 1024 x 600 képpont) és 69 centis (27 inch Full HD, 1920 x 1080 képpont) képátlóval rendelkező OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode, Szerves fénykibocsátó dióda) kijelzői prototípusát a tokiói lapos képernyők kiállításán. Az OLED kijelzők egyik előnyös tulajdonsága a hagyományos LCD és plazma megjelenítőkkel szemben az energiatakarékos működés - az OLED kijelzőknél nincs szükség hátsó megvilágításra -, emiatt akkumulátorról üzemeltetve jóval tovább bírják.

The new flat-screen TVs, sized 32-inch to 50-inch, has not only have a built-in 250GB HDD to record TV programs, but also has a iVDR standard HDD slot for external drive or to play pre-recorded iVDR HDD media. Hitachi will put it on the market 20 April with prices ranging from 250,000 yen (2,080 USD) to 570,000 yen (4,750 USD).
